At textile trade shows, the way a collection is presented is very important. Visitors want to see the fabric up close, touch it, and compare the available options. That’s why it’s a good idea to start preparing your booth for Heimtextil by focusing on the products: their sizes, quantity, display methods, and the conditions under which their properties will be best showcased.
Lighting, space for samples, a comfortable table for discussions, and storage for additional materials should be part of the design from the very beginning. Below, you’ll find information about the upcoming edition, as well as practical tips on budgeting, logistics, and setting up the booth.
What is Heimtextil 2027, and when will it take place?
Heimtextil 2027 is an international trade fair for home and contract textiles, which will take place January 12–15, 2027, at Messe Frankfurt in Germany. The event brings together manufacturers, distributors, buyers, architects, and interior designers interested in new collections and solutions for residential and commercial projects.
The scale of the event is evident from the results of the previous edition: in 2026, Heimtextil attracted 48,000 visitors from 133 countries. For exhibitors, this means an opportunity to reach an international audience. It’s a good idea to determine in advance who you want to meet and which products will be the focus of your discussions.
The Heimtextil trade show isn't limited to manufacturers of bedding or curtains. Contract textiles—intended for hotels, restaurants, and other commercial facilities, among others—make up a significant part of the offerings. If you’re targeting this sector, make sure to provide clear information about the applications, properties, and available material options.
Fair opening hours for visitors:
- Tuesday–Thursday, January 12–14: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.;
- Friday, January 15: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
You can find organizational information at the official Heimtextil website.
What trends will Heimtextil 2027 showcase?
The Heimtextil Trends 27/28 program is titled „Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living.” Developed in collaboration with the Alcova design platform, it highlights the tension between the pursuit of ever-greater interior functionality and the need for rest and comfort. What matters is both what textiles can do—such as regulating light or absorbing sound—and the sensations they provide upon direct contact.
The organizer highlights three trends: Staged Competence, Inside, Out, and Hyper Presence. You can see the trend presentation at Trend Space in Hall 4.2. For more information about the concept, visit Preview of Heimtextil Trends 27/28.
How can you translate these ideas into your booth? First and foremost, let visitors get to know the product. It’s a good idea to display fabrics in larger sizes, allow visitors to touch and compare them, and showcase selected applications in a setting. Lighting should help visitors assess the color, weave, and texture of the fabric.
Digital solutions can complement a display if they serve a specific purpose: showing variations within a collection, technical specifications, or examples of how the products can be used. It’s also a good idea to have relevant certifications and information about the products’ composition, origin, and recyclability on hand. These materials can be useful during discussions with buyers and designers.
What technical requirements must a booth at Heimtextil meet?
The design of a booth for Heimtextil must comply with Messe Frankfurt’s guidelines and the specific conditions of the location. Before beginning production, you should verify the permitted height of the structure, fire safety requirements, suspension rules, and the scope of documentation required for design approval.
It should not be assumed that every booth can be up to 2.5 meters high. Permissible heights depend, among other things, on the hall, the size, and the location of the booth. Similarly, the requirement for design approval is based on several structural parameters, not just the height.
When exhibiting textiles, it is important to determine well in advance which materials will be the products on display at the booth and which will be part of the booth’s structure or decoration. This will allow you to verify the relevant requirements and prepare the necessary documentation before shipping.
It is best to discuss these issues with the contractor as early as the initial concept phase. Changing the material or design during the design phase is usually easier than doing so during installation in Frankfurt.
How much does it cost to participate in and set up a booth at Heimtextil 2027?
The total cost of participating in Heimtextil includes booth rental, booth setup, and support services for the trip. The price depends, among other things, on the square footage, the number of open sides, the type of booth structure, the equipment, and the method of product presentation.
In addition to the booth rental fee, the organizer charges, among other things, an environmental fee, an AUMA membership fee, and a mandatory media package. You can find the current rates in Information for Exhibitors at Heimtextil 2027.
Be sure to include the following in your budget:
- design and manufacture of custom cabinetry;
- lighting, graphics, furniture, and display units;
- connections and technical services ordered;
- transport, unloading, assembly, and disassembly;
- storage of empty containers;
- the team's travel and lodging.
When comparing contractors’ quotes, first and foremost check what they include. Does the price cover transportation and installation? Who is ordering the services for the venue? Are dismantling and pickup of the components after the trade show included? Only by comparing these details can you assess how much the project will actually cost.
For an initial quote, it’s a good idea to prepare a floor plan, the booth dimensions, a list of the products to be displayed, and your budget. This will allow the contractor to propose solutions that meet your needs.
What are the potential challenges and mistakes to avoid when organizing a booth at Heimtextil 2027?
One common mistake is to start designing without determining what will be displayed and how. Large fabric swatches, heavy sample books, rolls of carpet, or ready-made interior designs require different display units and a different spatial layout. It’s a good idea to provide the designer with information about their number, dimensions, and weight at the start of the project.
Another problem may be improper lighting. If it alters color perception or prevents you from seeing texture, it makes it difficult to evaluate the collection. A good solution is to check selected samples under the planned lighting conditions before the trade show.
It’s also not a good idea to leave the technical documentation, service contracts, and transportation arrangements until the very end. Work with the contractor to determine who is responsible for each task, what materials you need to provide, and when final decisions will be made.
The start date for preparations depends on the scale of the project and its complexity. For a custom project, it’s a good idea to set aside a few months, especially since the January Heimtextil trade show means that production and logistics will span the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season.
How does Heimtextil 2027 compare to other trade shows?
Heimtextil focuses on home and contract textiles. This is an important distinction to consider when choosing an event: a manufacturer of upholstery fabrics, a supplier of ready-made furniture, and a home decor brand may be targeting different audiences, even though they all operate in the interior design industry.
January also features imm cologne and Maison&Objet. Each of these events has a different focus, so it’s best to base your decision on your company’s offerings and the customer base you want to reach.

Event dates and descriptions are provided by the organizers.
If you plan to attend several of these events, keep in mind that their dates are close together. Heimtextil and Maison&Objet partially overlap, and imm cologne begins a few days later. This is important to consider when dividing up the team, transporting the collection, and planning the reuse of booth elements.
How to Set Up a Booth for Heimtextil 2027, Step by Step?
Start preparing your booth by defining the purpose of your participation and how you plan to present your collection. Based on this, it will be easier to determine the space you need, your budget, and the scope of work.
- Define the purpose of your participation. Decide whether product launches, meetings with current customers, recruiting distributors, or reaching out to designers will be your top priorities.
- Prepare a brief and a budget. Gather the floor plan, brand guidelines, product list, and the team's needs.
- Plan your display. Determine how to display the fabrics and swatches, the lighting, the space for conversations, and the back-of-house area.
- Select a booth contractor. Check out their portfolio, production facilities, and range of services—from design to dismantling.
- Verify the technical requirements. Before production begins, determine which documents, agreements, and service orders will be needed.
- Organize the logistics. Plan the transportation of the fixtures and products, unloading, and storage of the packaging.
- Get your team and communication ready. Schedule meetings, develop product materials, and establish a system for recording contact information.
- Plan your post-trade-show activities. In addition to disassembly, be sure to include shipping samples, sending proposals, and responding to questions raised during meetings.

How do I buy a ticket and plan my visit to Heimtextil 2027?
The best way to start buying a ticket is to the official Heimtextil website, which links to the Messe Frankfurt ticketing system. The event is intended for trade visitors. Before purchasing, please review the price list and ticket terms and conditions for the 2027 edition, including the rules for using RMV public transportation.
If you’re planning a longer visit, compare the cost of one-day tickets and a pass for the entire event. Review the exhibitor directory in advance, mark the companies that interest you, and schedule your most important meetings. A floor plan and the Heimtextil Navigator app will help you find your way around the venue.
Be sure to set aside some time to check out the trends and new collections. A schedule packed with back-to-back meetings makes it difficult to take your time exploring what’s on offer and getting to the other halls.
How do I become an exhibitor at Heimtextil 2027?
The first step is to submit the expression of interest form by the organizer's website. Messe Frankfurt then prepares a space proposal. Once it has been approved and participation confirmed, the booth design can be finalized for the specific location.
In your application, describe your company profile, the products you’ll be showcasing, and your space requirements. Before accepting an offer, check the booth’s location, the number of open sides, and the technical specifications—this information affects your display options and the cost of the booth setup.
After making a reservation, work out a schedule with the contractor and divide up the responsibilities. The sooner you provide the booth layout and information about the collection, the more time there will be to refine the design and prepare for production.
