ILTM Cannes – How Is It Different from Traditional Travel Trade Shows?

ILTM Cannes has a different format than typical travel trade shows. Participation in the event is based on the selection of participants and pre-scheduled meetings between exhibitors and buyers from the luxury travel sector, which means that a large portion of business meetings are scheduled even before the event begins.

Meetings take place according to a set schedule and last about 15 minutes. For exhibitors, this means several or a dozen or so meetings throughout the day, which is why the booth should, above all, provide comfortable meeting spaces, good acoustics, and an environment conducive to conversation, while also showcasing the brand's character.

The event is large in scale despite being a closed-door event. The previous edition of ILTM Cannes was attended by nearly 10,000 people, and the event will feature more than 100,000 business meetings.

What is ILTM Cannes, and who is it intended for?

ILTM Cannes (International Luxury Travel Market) is a closed-door B2B event dedicated to luxury tourism, where participation requires prior registration and approval by the organizer. The event brings together representatives of luxury hotels and resorts, destinations, tour operators, airlines, companies offering cruises and yacht charters, and other brands operating in the luxury travel segment.

The second important group of participants consists of buyers and travel advisors, who meet with exhibitors during pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings. Representatives of international media outlets covering travel and the premium sector also attend the event.

In 2025, ILTM Cannes attracted nearly 10,000 participants, and the following companies presented their offerings 2,781 exhibitors from 108 countries. As part of the event, there were over 100,000 pre-scheduled business meetings, which clearly illustrates how important face-to-face conversations between exhibitors and buyers are to the ILTM format.

When and where will ILTM Cannes take place in 2026?

ILTM Cannes 2026 will take place November 30 through December 3, 2026, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. The venue is located in the city center, a short distance from the Cannes train station, making it easy for event participants to get there.

The ILTM program lasts four days, and pre-scheduled business meetings are an important part of it Pre-Scheduled Appointments (PSA) between exhibitors and buyers. Meetings take place according to a set schedule, so it’s a good idea to review your meeting schedule and the event program before you arrive.

Who are the hosted buyers at ILTM Cannes?

Hosted buyers are representatives of the travel industry selected by the organizer who attend ILTM Cannes to meet with exhibitors from the luxury travel segment. Their participation takes place as part of the Hosted Buyer Program, and the specific eligibility and participation requirements are set by the ILTM organizer.

What trends in luxury travel are evident at ILTM Cannes?

The program and topics discussed at ILTM Cannes illustrate how the luxury travel market is changing. The following are becoming increasingly important: wellness and longevity, authentic local experiences, gastronomy, sustainable tourism, and trips that offer more than just a stay at a luxury hotel.

The very concept of luxury is also changing. For some customers, the following are becoming increasingly important: tailored experiences, privacy, time, exposure to local culture, and high-quality service, rather than just the facility's standard or its amenities.

Technology also remains an important topic—particularly solutions that help personalize offerings and services for travelers. Thus, ILTM brings together not only luxury hotels and destinations, but also companies developing services and solutions that address the changing expectations of premium-segment customers.

How does BWS Expo Plus support exhibitors at global events such as ILTM Cannes?

BWS Expo Plus is responsible for the entire process of setting up an exhibition booth—from design and technical documentation, through production and logistics, to installation, on-site support, and dismantling. Thanks to our in-house production facilities, we can build both smaller meeting spaces and weather-resistant outdoor structures.

At ILTM Cannes, the function of the space is particularly important. A large part of participation in the event is based on pre-scheduled meetings with buyers, so the design should take into account comfortable spaces for conversations, appropriate acoustics, facilities for the team, and a brand presentation style suited to the luxury travel segment.

We carry out projects at international events in various parts of Europe, including France. Production, logistics, and assembly are coordinated by a single team from BWS Expo Plus, and for larger projects or upon special request from the client, the project manager in charge may remain on-site throughout the entire event.
