Grüne Woche 2027 – When Will the Fair Take Place and What You Need to Know

Grüne Woche 2027 will take place January 15–24, 2027, at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds. This international food, agriculture, and horticulture trade fair combines presentations of regional specialties with discussions about the future of the industry. Are you planning to participate as an exhibitor? It’s worth designing a booth that facilitates tastings, highlights the origin of your products, and provides a space for conversations with both consumers and business partners.

  • 350 000visitors in 2026.
  • around 1500exhibitors in 2025.

Grüne Woche gives exhibitors the opportunity to interact directly with consumers and meet with representatives of the food industry. For food producers, it’s a chance to showcase their products, gauge reactions to new flavors, and discuss potential collaborations. For regions, it’s a chance to showcase local products, traditions, and the people behind them.

It’s important to take this nature of the event into account when designing the booth. Tastings require convenient service and adequate facilities, while business meetings require a space where you can calmly present your offer. With the trade show lasting ten days, the durability of the booth structure, product storage, and efficient restocking of the display are equally important.

What is Grüne Woche 2027, and where will it take place?

Grüne Woche 2027, also known as Green Week, is an international food, agriculture, and horticulture trade fair. It will take place from January 15–24, 2027, at the Messe Berlin grounds. The history of this event dates back to 1926.

The fair is open to the general public, while also attracting representatives from the retail and food service sectors, as well as institutions and industry organizations. When planning your participation, it’s therefore important to distinguish between two types of interactions: conversations with consumers and business meetings. Each requires different preparations in terms of the team, materials, and space.

Visitor Hours:

  • every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.;
  • Friday, January 22 — from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

You can find the floor plans and information about the entrances at the official Grüne Woche website. Before your visit, check the locations of the exhibitors you're interested in to choose the most convenient entrance.

What is there to see at Grüne Woche?

The event features regional and international food products, as well as presentations on agriculture, horticulture, and livestock. Among the themed zones, the organizer lists, among others, the Flower Hall, World Tour, German regions, and the Young Generation Hub. Tastings and product demonstrations are an important part of the visitor experience.

The event also features a professional program, including the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture—a forum dedicated to the future of agriculture and the food economy. It’s a good idea to plan your attendance at specific conferences separately by checking their dates and registration guidelines.

For an exhibitor, what matters is how their offerings fit into the theme of the selected hall. A brand launching a new beverage might focus on tastings and gathering feedback, while a regional booth could combine presentations from several producers with a shared narrative about the products’ place of origin.

Will there be a Polish national pavilion at Grüne Woche 2027?

Yes. The National Center for Agricultural Support has announced a Polish national pavilion Poland Tastes Good. According to the published information, it will include the section administered by KOWR and the regional booths of six marshal’s offices. Recruitment for the individual sections is conducted separately.

For details regarding participation and current availability of spots, please check directly with KOWR or the relevant marshal’s office. KOWR Information on Grüne Woche 2027 describes the rules for participating in the national portion.

What trends and innovations will be featured at Grüne Woche 2027?

The organizer's announcements include future food hub, a space for showcasing new products and solutions for the food industry. Topics include plant-based foods, non-alcoholic beverages, functional foods, products free of specific ingredients, and FoodTech innovations. The organizer also highlights smart packaging, AI, and digitalization.

These are specific areas that can help an exhibitor plan how to present their offerings. It’s a good idea to choose the product’s most important feature and showcase it in a clear and understandable way. Visitors should quickly be able to find out what they can try, what sets the product apart, and where they can buy it.

The following items will work well at the booth:

  • clear information about the ingredients and origin of products;
  • tastings that allow you to compare flavors or varieties;
  • brief demonstrations of how to use the product;
  • materials featuring our offerings for retail and the food service industry;
  • the ability to record consumer feedback and questions from potential partners.

If you’re communicating the environmental attributes of a product or its packaging, provide specific data and any supporting documentation you have. The general term „eco-friendly” gives the audience less information than explaining what the packaging is made of or where the raw materials come from.

Is it worth exhibiting at Grüne Woche 2027?

Participation is worth considering if your goal is to showcase food to consumers, promote the region, gauge reactions to your product, or build industry contacts. Whether it’s cost-effective depends on how well the event aligns with your offerings and how you make the most of your presence there.

Before booking a booth, determine how you’ll know if the trade show has achieved the desired results. This could include sales made at the booth, the number of valuable business conversations, feedback collected on a new product, or inquiries about distribution. The number of visitors to the booth alone does not necessarily indicate whether the goal was achieved.

Purpose of Participation What should you include at your booth? What should you measure?
New Product Presentation Tasting, visible packaging, and a brief description of the products Feedback, questions, and interest in specific options
Consumer Sales Clear pricing, a convenient shopping location, and efficient service Sales Revenue and Margin
Development of Business Relationships A place for discussions, B2B offerings, and samples Contacts that match the client's profile and follow-up meetings
Promotion of the Region Consistent branding and a clear distinction between manufacturers Inquiries from participants and interest in the region's offerings

If you have several objectives, it’s a good idea to prioritize them. A booth focused primarily on tastings and sales will have a different spatial layout than one designed mainly for meetings with partners.

How much does it cost to participate in Grüne Woche 2027 as an exhibitor?

The cost of participation includes space rental, the organizer’s required fees, booth setup, and staffing for the ten-day trade show. Floor space is a factor, but the budget is also affected by equipment, how products are presented, and the number of people working on-site.

For the „food, agriculture, and forestry” category, the organizer provides the following rental rates:

Booth Type Net price per m²
In-line — one side open 174.00 EUR
Corner — two open sides 191.40 EUR
Peninsular — three sides open 208.80 EUR
Island-style — open on four sides 226.20 EUR

An AUMA fee of 0.60 EUR/m², a media package for 439 EUR, and VAT are added to these rates. These costs cover the exhibition space and the specified fees, excluding custom booth construction. Terms and conditions for other product groups and packages may vary. The current price list can be found at Information about booth registration.

Be sure to include design, production, transportation, installation, and dismantling of the display in your total budget. When presenting food, you may need refrigeration equipment, a preparation area, utility connections, and ongoing restocking of products. Added to this are the costs of staff, lodging, cleaning, and tasting samples.

When comparing contractors' bids, check the scope of each quote. Determine which services the contractor is providing and which are your responsibility. This will help you avoid a situation where a seemingly cheaper bid does not include the elements necessary for the booth to function.

How can you design a booth for Grüne Woche that facilitates tastings and conversations?

A good food stand should allow visitors to quickly see what’s on offer and enable staff to work comfortably. Before developing a visual concept, it’s a good idea to determine the number of products, as well as how they will be stored, prepared, and served.

Plan the tasting area in an easily accessible part of the booth. People sampling products should not block the entrance or access to the rest of the display. You will need space for samples, dishes, and waste, as well as the ability to restock efficiently.

Tailor the support structure to the team's actual work. Specify the dimensions and specifications of the equipment, the number of people preparing the products, and the quantity of goods stored. This information affects the layout of the facility and the requirements for utility connections.

Set aside a space for business meetings. Even a small table set aside from the tasting line will allow you to discuss the product lineup, delivery terms, and collaboration opportunities in a more relaxed setting.

Ensure the visibility of your brand and products. The name of the company or region should be legible from the aisle, and the packaging and product information should be easy to spot up close. At a shared booth, it’s a good idea to clearly label the individual manufacturers.

Before production begins, check with the contractor regarding Messe Berlin’s requirements for the booth setup and planned activities. The organizer provides information on documentation and ordering services such as electricity, water, cleaning, and waste collection in the section Booth Setup and Organizational Requirements.

How to Prepare for Grüne Woche 2027, Step by Step?

  1. Define your goal and your target audience. Determine whether the priority is sales, product promotion, showcasing the region, or business contacts.
  2. Please confirm the venue and the terms of participation. Obtain the booth layout, the location within the hall, and the guidelines from the organizer or the group exhibition coordinator.
  3. Prepare a brief for the contractor. Describe the products, tastings, equipment needed, number of staff required, and budget.
  4. Refine the design and logistics. Arrange for the documentation, connections, transportation, installation, and method of delivery.
  5. Plan for all ten days. Prepare the team's schedule, delivery schedule, cleaning schedule, and procedures for addressing issues.
  6. Schedule meetings and prepare the materials. Make sure your offerings are available in the appropriate languages and that there’s a simple way to record contacts and arrangements.
  7. Organize follow-up activities after the trade show. Plan the disassembly, return shipping, and follow-up with those awaiting quotes and samples.

According to the published schedule, installation begins on January 11, and the work is scheduled to be completed and the structure accepted on January 14 at 12:00 p.m. Dismantling begins on January 24 at 6:00 p.m. and ends on January 26. Please take these dates into account when planning transportation and confirm them in your project documentation.

How much do tickets cost, and how should I plan my trip from Poland?

If you’d like to experience the trade show as a visitor first, the organizer offers tickets for the general public and industry professionals. According to the 2027 price list, a one-day general admission ticket costs 17 EUR online, and a one-day trade ticket costs 25 EUR online. Multi-day passes and discounted tickets are also available. For details, visit the official Grüne Woche ticket office.

You can plan your trip from Poland by train, car, or bus, depending on your departure point and the number of people traveling. When choosing accommodations, check the travel time to the appropriate entrance at Messe Berlin. If you’re flying into BER Airport and using local zone tickets, your trip to Berlin requires a ticket covering zones ABC.

For exhibitors, it’s a good idea to keep the team’s travel itinerary separate from the transportation of the booth structure and products. The delivery of goods, pickup of the finished booth, and arrival of the tasting staff may require different dates.
